Rules of Internship/project work, MBA Program, Fall 12,

Rules for Internship/ project work for MBA program:

a.       Students are allowed total 4 months for submitting internship after their starting of internship and a total  of 6 months to complete at any situation. So they have to manage their internship within 2 months of completing semester final exam. For students of MBA, fall 12: the deadline for submitting internship report is on or before Sep. 17, 2012.

b.      Students must be attached with an organization and prepare the report on related to that organization. Organization refers to any of the types: profit oriented or non-profit oriented.

c.       Students who are doing job have to do the report on their respective organization. They need not go other organization to do the internship.

d.      Students have to contact their respective supervisors at least five times to complete the internship. At the time of starting the work they have to take direction from the supervisor regarding the topic and before completion of three months period, they have to contact at least two more times. And finally before the presentation of report, at least two more times of contact is necessary for modification, editing and preparation for presentation.

e.      Before completion of three months internship, an evaluation by the organization is to be made. The students have to submit the name and address of the evaluator (naturally the immediate senior or the peer colleague) of his work to the Head, Business Administration (email: dbasiusylhet@gmail.com or SMS to 01711996032). The department then send an evaluation letter to the organization and the organization reply to the department by filling up the form. The correspondence must be done through post or courier service only. The candidate is not allowed to carry the letter personally.

f.        The evaluation of performance must be received prior to presentation of report.

A daylong seminar on “Contemporary thinking on Managing Business” is held on May 04, 2013 at Sylhet International University Campus. The department of Business Administration arranged that seminar. The VC Prof. Dr. Susanta Kumar Das inaugurated the program by delivering his inaugural speech where he reiterated the support for such creative activities. The Chairman of Trustee Board, Mr. Shamim Ahmad delivered his lecture at the inaugural session as guest of honor and praised  the department of Business Adminsitartion for such research oriented activities. The inaugural and working session were presided by Mr. Abdul Latif, Head, Department of Business Administration, SIU.   The discussants of working session were: Pr. Mr. Ahmad kabir Chowdhury, Pr. Mr. Hassanuzzaman, Mr. Mizanur Rahman & Mr. Shamsul Islam Prodhan of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. Twelve research papers covering various topics as uses of Face Book, internet, Mobile phones, SME, Industrial estates, Green Banking , Inflation, Housing & others of faculty members were presented in that seminar  .
